Soil PH: Slightly alkaline

Soils that are slightly alkaline have a pH between 7.4 and 7.8. Plants ranging from kale and broccoli to beans can thrive in slightly alkaline soil. It’s also easy to amend with lime to accommodate alkaline-loving plants. Alternately, you can add sulfur to create more acidic or neutral soil.
